What is Premium SMS


A Premium Rate SMS Services
This service will allow you organizations, companies and clubs to charge a premium rate for their SMS content. For example you may wish to charge a higher SMS charge for entry into competitions or for the provision of goods and services. This feature could be utilised also for payments, small purchases, and a range of other services that an organization may wish to offer its members, employees, or sms recipient list.

An example of a Premium Rate SMS service is a voting poll for a reality television program Viewers are asked to send and sms to vote for or against a contestant. The viewer will send a message to the nominated premium number and a charge of 55c will be added directly to their phone bill. The revenue is then shared between the Network carrier, Content provider and Premium SMS Bureau.

  
 

How it Works:

The new Premium SMS Service will use a special short code premium number with a prefix of 188/ 191,193,194,195,196,197 and 199. In the initial phase of Premium SMS, the quantity of premium numbers available will be limited.
For each premium number you will be able to define the associated premium rate of between 55c
and $5.00.
